Bob Pennock--rhythm guitars, bass, vocals
Mike Manley -- bass, rhythm guitars, vocals
Dan Hess -- drums, vocals
Matt Zwick -- lead guitars
Free Beer formed as an off shoot of the Athens Comedy
Ensemble, and with the new formation made music the main
focus. Playing a wide selection of timeless covers and originals,
Free Beer made its mark in Athens at all the usual clubs,
The Union, The Front Room, Grotto, Hangar 5, as well as
every Green weekend. In 1986, Free Beer finished 2nd in
the OU Battle of the Bands, behind Myriad Creatures and
went on to play a prime spot in that year's Springfest.
Three of the band's members are still playing music and
recording.

Tidbits...
Marc Buckland, television producer and Emmy award winning
director of "My Name Is Earl," was a founding
member of the band. He played with the group for about 9
months.
