Myriad Creatures

Founded in late 1984 by a bunch of friends, Myriad Creatures started playing out in Athens in early 1985. The original members include Dan Reed, his brother Tim Reed, Dave Weber, John Morgan and Jody Gildersleeve. The band left Athens and relocated to Boston in 1986. Myriad Creatures finally called it quits in 1988.

At a time when many bands in Athens were sticking to tried-and-true bar-band covers, the Creatures served up complex, well-played originals and tunes by the cutting-edge pop artists of the day, picking their cover fare from acts such as Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads and King Crimson. - Jim Phillips, Athens NEWS Senior Writer, Thursday, July 13th, 2006
